My first blog EVER here in tumblr. My first blog in a VERY long time. haha :D I try to remember when I last wrote a blog (either in Multiply, Friendster, or wherever I have an account, lol) and all I could remember was my last entry in my journal. You know, pen and paper and stuff. So, er, yeah. A reaaaally long time since my last online blog. Anyway.
Today we had our very first review class. For those who may not know about it, it’s sort of a preparation for us new graduates of BS Nursing who will be taking our Nurse Licensure Exam (NLE) or local board exam on July. So, yeah, as the name implies, we review our 4 years of college, in just 3 months, for the exam. But we don’t necessarily need to enroll in a review center, but it’ll really help us endure 2 days of test-taking. Imagine answering 200-300 questions in one setting. Anyway. I arrived at exactly 8 o’clock, but I was still a bit late, but it was okay since it was still orientation day. We didn’t have to sit on our seat numbers, yet. We spent about 8 hours inside a function room, and you’d think we’d get bored and restless (we were about 500+ inside!), but amazingly we weren’t. It was actually a really fun and entertaining experience, and even though it was still orientation day, we learned something. Okay, understatement of the day. We learned a LOT of things. We had a pre-test and post-test, plus three mini 10-item tests in between. Also, the lecturer was the OWNER of the review center himself, Dr. R.A. Gapuz. So, it was fun. Plus most of the jokes were “green”, if you get what I mean. Basically, we laughed just as much as we answered questions. So, yeah. Not only did he teach us innuendos and nursing-related facts, but also he shared his experiences and some stories and tidbits on how to gain confidence in answering the board exam.
As he said, “Ask. Believe. Receive.” If you want to achieve or attain something, you have to ASK the world for it, BELIEVE that you can do it and get it, and RECEIVE whatever comes your way. It really hit me since I want something, but I don’t know how to get it, or what I should do first, or what move should I make…and he said that if you feel that way, then that’s the first step into getting it. It didn’t make sense to me at the time but as I thought about it, he’s right. We get or achieve things in ways that we didn’t even know or plan; it just happened. So, with these three words, I’m really hoping I get what I’ve wanted. And if I fail in getting it, I shouldn’t give up. As he said, again, “Get up and finish the race.”
