The Awesomeness That is David Cook: Live in Cebu!

FINALLY!

After months and years and decades - okay, I’m prolly exaggerating a bit, but finally, finally someone I actually adore comes to my hometown for a concert!

YES!

DAVID COOK!

When he tweeted about it, I was beyond ecstatic. I just HAD to watch him! And I made a promise to myself that, if one of my most favorite performers or bands come here, I would spend - splurge, even - for the tickets no matter what the cost. So, after coercing asking a friend to join me, we decided we wanted to watch at the front most. Unfortunately, due to our schedule, we weren’t able to buy the tickets earlier, so the front seats were full. :( So, we got the next best thing: VIP. Oh, yeah.

The days went alarmingly slow once we bought the tickets… Then, July 15 came.

David Cook was here!

Unfortunately again, because of my schedule, I wasn’t able to see him in the meet and greet at SM Cebu. But, well, I was going to watch him concert in Watherfront Hotel and Casino anyway, so whatever! LOL

And, boy, did he NOT disappoint! He was sooooo amazing! From the aesthetic lights to his song choices to his personality in general, he was such a dream.

The songs he sang (just off the top of my head) were Circadian, Heroes, Mr. Sensitive, The Last Goodbye, a new song they just wrote entitled From Hero to Zero, I Did It For You, Paper Heart, Come Back to Me, a cover of a Gavin DeGraw song which I forgot the title (I was busy clearing my phone memory so I can, you know, haha), Goodbye to the Girl, Light On, Always Be My Baby (in which everybody stood up and sang along - finally), Fade into Me and the last song which I forgot what (LOL) but I think it’s The Last Song I’ll Write for You. Hahaha that’s what I remember, anyway.

Live is most definitely better than studio recordings. Haha he is so good! As a singer and a performer. And how he handled the Cebu audience - one of the most hard to please crowds - was just awesome. He’s been so gracious with everything. Haha :D

Apart from the opening act (Vfort? Who the-?) and the not-so-reactive audience (especially up at front), my friend and I had such an amazing time. My arms were hurting and my throat was itchy in the end, but it was so worth it.

This has been a dream come true. Really. And I most definitely regret nothing.

So, David Cook, if you’ve had a mental breakdown and actually reading my sorry excuse of a blog, THANK YOU SO MUCH. For last night and your music and your talent and just - thank you! This has become one of my most unforgettable nights ever, and it was such an honor to watch you perform. Thank you. ♥

I Miss Writing

Yep.

I dunno, lately I just haven’t been writing. Like, I keep telling myself, “Ooh, that’s a good one, you should write that!” but in the end I don’t. Same old excuses (no time, writer’s block, busy, I don’t have Microsoft in my laptop anymore), though I know that’s bull. They may be true, but not really enough to…well, not write, you know? Seems shallow and a bit childish, making excuses. I say I love writing, yet I’m doing one heck of a job proving it.

So, here I am. Writing. Pretty pointless this post is, to be honest, but writing nonetheless. And I shall make a promise to myself that I would write more starting this mid-year. Be it in blog form or through paper, I need to get my thoughts and feelings out through written words. Lately, I noticed that I’ve been keeping some stuff bottled up for quite some time now, which can be self-destructing if I don’t remedy that. So, what better way to ease some (if not all) emotional and mental turmoil than doing the things you love, yeah? Plus, I dislike people who break their promises be it to themselves or others, so I wouldn’t want to come out as a hypocrite.

Chos.

Anywho, it’ll take time, but when it comes, I hope not only to entertain myself, but you guys as well. Well, those who made it as far as reading this part, that is.

I’m thinking of changing my theme again.

Not like I actually know how to make one for my own, but I’m thinking of using my old theme. The one I’ve grown accustomed to. Don’t get me wrong, I love Pottermore. It’s just… I’m kind of having a hard time going through my own page especially in my notebook. The text is too small. So, yeah. I’m prolly gonna change it. Yeah.

Just finished watching Nikita season 1.

AND I LOVE IT.

I can’t believe I didn’t get to this sooner. Oh well. I’m waaaay behind Doctor Who as it is, so huh.

Anyway.

Maggie Q is just amazing. They picked the perfect woman to portray a sexy, sleek, tough rogue assassin who’s out to get the people who made her who she was. I mean, c’mon, she does her own stunts! And Shane West, OMG. From teen heartthrob to Dr. McDreamy to a badass hunk. What an upgrade. Oh, don’t forget Melinda Clarke. Totally perfect for a manipulating bitch. Reminds me of her Julie days in The OC. Then add sassy Lyndsy Fonesca in the mix, and we’ve got a kick ass TV show that is unfortunately underrated. People in the US should totally watch this to get its ratings up. It’s (sort of) something new. Their plotlines and twists are really to look forward to. And their cast is HOT.

PS. MIKITAAA :))))

PPS. Can’t wait to get to season 2.

The Pottermore Experience of SilverPhoenix65

Soooo. I got my Pottermore welcome email last September 6, and frankly that was one of the most jaslghaslkdfjhsklfjas moments of my life. :))

This is just going to be brief. Enter at your own risk. LOL

I LOVE THE NEW THEME.

Thank you sooooo much for the wonderful and amazing wizard who made this and for sharing your gift to sub-par wizards like me! Seriously, thank you. :))

And, yes, I am following you now.

To my followers, follow darrenandthebanana too, if you want! :D

My Skeleton Will Lie in the Cinema Forever.

So, yeah. Finally. I saw it last night. The-Film-That-Must-Not-Be-Named. And I was not disappointed. It more or less captured what an HP reader would imagine it to be like, just like in part 1. Although I could do with a few scene changes (i.e. the kiss, the death, etc), it actually was worthy of a series-ender.

Again, I WON’T BE SPOILING ANYTHING (in case some people still haven’t seen the movie), but I did this for part 1 so, here it is.

Favorite Moments of the Movie (Part 2):

  • Hermione!Bellatrix (OMG Helena is so talented!)
  • Ollivander and Griphook. Wow.
  • “Good morning.” HAHA
  • Gringotts and the goblin who was “drugged” quite a few times LOL
  • The dragon
  • After the dragon (Eye candies *wink*)
  • “Students out of bed!” “They’re supposed to be out of bed, you blithering idiot!”
  • Aberforth Dumbledore. :D
  • “Yeah, you and whose army?!” Haha :D
  • The R/H kiss :3
  • The H/G kiss :3
  • McGonagall being the EPIC HBIC that she always is.
  • “Always.”
  • Luna getting Harry’s attention. HAHA :D
  • “Boom?” “BOOM!”
  • “Not my daughter you bitch!”
  • SNAPE. SNAPE. SNAPE. SNAPE.
  • The memories :’((
  • The resurrection stone. :(
  • Ginny: NOOOO! *sob*
  • Filch sweeping, hahahaha :)
  • “I’ve always wanted to use that spell!”
  • Arrival of the DA and OotP members
  • The non-book!canon couple! OMG! THANK YOUUUUU :)))
  • The friggin’ memories! :’((
  • “Who said that?” “Me.”
  • Lupin and Tonks. OMG *sob*
  • “We never left.” :’(
  • When a horcrux gets destroyed. Awesome.
  • “If we die for them, I’m going to kill you!”
  • The hug, hahaha, awkwaaaard
  • King’s Cross station
  • THE FINAL BATTLE.
  • EVERYTHING NEVILLE :))
  • EVERYTHING RON :))
  • EVERYTHING HERMIONE :))
  • EVERYTHING HARRY :))
  • 19 years later… “Together.”

And probably a lot more, but then again I’d most likely be writing the whole movie in bulleted form. Hehe :3 But, whatever. As I said, it was awesome. Totally worth the wait. And the whole time I was watching, I was like,

Well, mentally, at least. For some strange reason my tear ducts didn’t function properly.

Anyway, I’m totally watching it again with another batch of friends. :D

But now I don’t know what to do with myself since I have nothing to look forward to anymore.

Found this on my friend’s Facebook page. IDK how these challenges got to FB, but eh. Whatever. I’m feeling bored so I guess I’ll be doing this. :) I only get to finish photo and song challenges anyway. Oh, and the Disney one as well. LOL :D

Blog Time

Everybody seems to be so alive, posting and reblogging and I’m feeling quite left out.. But I’m going to post something more, uh, personal. Yep, a blog. Yay :D Haha Not that anybody reads this or what, but, yeah here’s some of the things that have happened to me recently.

First of all, I permed my hair. LOL  :)) Yes, I now have curly hair. I’ve always loved my straight hair, but I wanted to try something new. Plus it’s less hassle since I don’t have to brush my hair that much anymore. :) I dunno if it’s clear in my new avatar pic, so here’s a bigger version:

Also, the whole Lenten season I didn’t drink coffee. Yes, I survived, but barely! My office is practically beside Bo’s coffee, so it’s been quite tempting. I was having withdrawal symptoms for weeks, haha xD Anyway, I didn’t drink coffee just for the fasting thing for Lent, but also for medical reasons. Believe it or not, I am now hypertensive. O.O I know, right? I mean, I’m still 21 years old! And I have high blood pressure? Waaaa. Now I’m seriously making drastic changes in my diet, plus additional medications in my already overflowing pill box. Sigh. Well, what can I do. All diseases are starting to start at early ages nowadays. All I can do now is lifestyle modification. Besides, who says I can’t drink coffee EVER? I still can, just not all the time just like I used to. :(

And, oh, who watches American Idol? I do, and so far it’s been pretty fun. My favorites are James and Casey. They’re awesome and super talented. I just don’t know if the American audience gets the jazz. Oh well.

I think that’s about it… I’m just a bit bored. Hihi :) Although I’m watching Lea Salonga sing right now on TV so it’s been all good. OH! And I finally saw The Social Network! I fell in love with Andrew Garfield at the same moment, too :)) As proof, I will reblog his picture after this blog.

Ciao. ;)

And happy Easter Sunday!

Eiiii.

Haven’t blogged in, like, ever. I’ve been quite busy with work. Wow. It used to be “school” HAHA I’m still getting used to saying “work.” Anyway, my shift’s been PM (3PM-11PM) and graveyard (11PM-7AM) for the past month, and next month I’ll be in GY shift, so my sleeping pattern’s becoming even more messed up, and it’s kind of hard adjusting to this thing… I’m making even lesser points now, ugh. But, in fairness, I’ve having fun with my work. We’ve recently started on live jobs (the real deal, not just practice files) and it’s getting more, uh, pressuring. Hahaha :p So, yeah. I’ll try to make some more graphics and blog in the near future, but for now I’m still in the adjusting part so I guess it’ll be in a minimum… Sigh. But hey, at least I’m not broke anymore! LOL

Off to bed, because I just got home from work. Hihihi :3

Good mornight!

New Message Ringtone! :)

Getting addicted to @TheRealRyanHiga’s videos, and one of them I was LSS-ing real hard for days! That then led me to make a new message ringtone.

“I will never say never! Unless the circumstances are appropriate for the situation that I’m in at the current time…” ;)

An old poem of mine.

I wrote this for the free-writing paper in my English class when I was in Fourth year high school, then posted it in my Friendster blog about a year later. Now, I’m posting it in my Tumblr :3 It’s not perfect, but I actually like it. Hope you guys do too.

“HOW”

How does one ever let go
Of painful yet wanted sorrow
Of a past that blinded me of all
Of a person who lies but made me fall?

How does one mend a broken heart
When I don’t even know where to start
When I’m so confused with God’s plan
When all I want is to have it torn again?

How does one ever contain
Roaring feelings that drive me insane?
Jealousy, sadness, anger and hurt
All but happiness, feeling like dirt

How does one ever forgive
Someone who took but wouldn’t give
Someone who drove my sanity away
Someone who doesn’t feel what I always say?

How does one ever live on
With lies and fantasies, but all is gone?
Uncontrolled emotions, numbing my soul
Eaten by darkness black as coal…

I wish I had creativity left to write something new. I haven’t written anything in AGES. Ugh.

Hey Y’all!

I know, it’s been quite a while since I last posted or blogged or whatever. I’ve just been a bit…busy and overwhelmed the last week. Because I just started in my very first job! WOOT!

I’m a medical transcriptionist now (I know, not nurse, but at least it’s still medically-inclined), and I literally just started last week on Monday. I’m part of the “last” batch of newly hired MTs, wherein we’re only 10 in the group. Smallest group ever, I reckon. xD Anyway, we had PM shift last week, and we had orientation/lecture the whole week. Which was boring. Plus we had tests. It felt like school all over again. Minus the number of people. Hahaha xD But so far, it’s been a-okay. My batchmates are all very friendly and easy to get along with. We eat together during breaks and are able to talk about a bunch of things, from movies to experiences to job-related topics (i.e. salary, typing test score, etc.). I’m the youngest in the group, together with my college classmate whom I didn’t know that also applied until we saw each other on the first day. Anyway, this week we were assigned to GY shift (yes, I haven’t slept yet since I arrived home at 8AM), and we’re starting on the hands-on training. This will go on for 4 weeks, then after, we’ll be deployed into the production as pro-B’s. It’s very exciting yet nerve-wrecking at the same time. I really do hope I do well.

In other news, I’ve been following this year’s American Idol. IDK how this will fare to my most favorite season (SEASON 7!), but so far it’s been fun. I really love Casey! He is very talented. And sexy (LOL). And I also like Scotty’s deep voice. My batchmates love it when I sing “Baby lock them doors” even though that’s the only lyric I know, Hahaha xD I hope this season won’t disappoint, especially since there’s no more Simon. Huuu. :(

Okay, I’m getting a bit sleepy now. Guess it’s time to get some shut-eye. Finally. LOL

Good mornight!

To my Sis:

The rain continues to pour
As a woman cries silently
Too torn and weak to move
Inside this chapel of many

Pattering of the raindrops
Soft music and silent tears
Comforting and condolences
Fill my half-listening ears

A white coffin looms ahead
My vision gets blurry
The woman cries harder
And her children worry

So young and so good
Was the man who left the earth
A loving husband and father
An angel in his next birth

At a loss of simple words
A tight hug seemed better
So strong was this girl
My friend and dear sister

My prayers and support
Is all that I could offer
To this grieving family of 3
Oh Lord, may they not suffer

Stay strong, stay hopeful
Don’t lose faith and your smile
Else you need someone
I am here to stay a while.
